Stanford Star Chinese PhD Students’ Startup Robot Finally Unveiled!

Although Karpathy had already teased it earlier, the actual appearance and silhouette are pretty much as expected~ When it turns around, it looks like this:

Cute cartoonish little face, baseball cap on top, white-and-orange color scheme, wheeled base, and a retractable slim waist. What do you think of this look?

Of course, looks alone aren’t enough.

In a no-editing, no-post-production, no-teleoperation demo, the “Cap Bro” can steadily load dishes into the dishwasher, neatly fold scattered socks, and even brew you a cup of coffee by hand.

This robot, which claims to “give you back your weekends,” is called Memo. Its price is on par with 1X’s home robot—just $20,000, and you can take it home.

Interestingly, just a few hours before launch, it might not have been called Memo yet.

The founding team openly asked netizens for name suggestions online—classic young founder energy, all about “listening to advice”~
